Little Lane | Exhibit in Glenferrie, Hawthorn
Little Lane Early Learning Centre has called Hawthorn home for almost three years now. The centre offers daycare and kinder programs for 146 children aged 0-5 years, who are cared for by 50 staff as well as specialist teachers who come in to provide art, language, dance, and music classes for the children.
This installation is a collaboration by the entire centre, co-ordinated by Little Lane's art teacher Carla and early childhood educator Jodi, to support and connect with the local community. It includes paintings from all the children at Little Lane, as well as staff artworks from a painting evening spent together. It was one of their first projects after the kids returned to the centre in late November.
After a long lockdown at home and an extraordinarily dull and cold winter, Little Lane hopes to inspire optimism and positivity in the local community during this period of new life and revitalisation through the theme of spring.
"Let this spring also be about hope, new beginnings, and hopefully, renewed happiness. May this collection of spring art from the little children at Little Lane help nourish and lighten your days."
