The Glenferrie Ward was established in 1994 when the Municipality of Hawthorn merged with Kew and Camberwell municipalities to become City of Boroondara.


Since 1996 the ward councillors have been: Nigel Kirby 1996-1999, Meredith Butler 1999-2008, Phil Meggs 2008-2012, and Steve Hurd 2012-present.

Population: 16,063, 8.8% of City of Boroondara
