Boroondara Bicycle Strategy Review

The City of Boroondara is seeking feedback from the community to create a new 10-year Boroondara Bicycle Strategy which is "designed to drive development, improvement and expansion of Boroondara's bicycle network within a 10 year period". The current Bicycle Strategy was adopted by council in 2008.

All members of the community, even those who do not ride a bike, are encouraged to take part in the review with the hope to "promote, build and sustain a cultural shift in thinking towards alternative, sustainable transport options in Boroondara".

Some of the information outlined in the current Bicycle Strategy include existing cycling conditions; consultations from council, community, stakeholders, and Bicycle Victoria; strategies to encourage more cyclists including opportunities, constraints, and recommendations; infrastructure, promotion, and education recommendations; and management and implementation.

Feedback can be made by completing the short 12-question survey available by searching 'bicycle strategy' at boroondara.vic.gov.au. Hard copy versions of the survey can be obtained by calling the Traffic and Transport Team at 9278 4549. Feedback will be accepted until 15 March 2020.

Once all feedback is reviewed by council, a Bicycle Strategy draft will be released to the public for comment in mid-2020.
